АфоризмыTV has proved that people will look at anything rather than each other. TV is an anesthetic for the pain of the modern world. I hate TV. I hate it as much as peanuts But I can’t stop eating peanuts. TV would become the world’s greatest teaching tool. Illiteracy would be wiped out. TV is perfect. You don’t have to concentrate. You don’t have to remember. Your heart , liver and lungs continue to function normally. All is peace and quiet. TV has changed a child from an irresistible force to an immovable object. |

Текст для аудированияTelevision is the best in the world. We have a lot of variety and good quality. We try to entertain and educate. That’s why so many television programmes are exported. We need more channels and more broadcasting. Up to 20 hours a day, for example. 1) Television is a great way to learn. It’s easier than reading a book. I wish we could watch more television at school. But on the whole, most telly programmes are rubbish, too serious. Television should be entertaining, you know, fun. I wish there were more police shows and sports. And more adverts, too. The kids come home and turn on the box. Parents have no control. And some of the programmes are really violent. There are terrible problems with reading and writing. Kids don’t read books any more. They spend a lot of time just sitting and watching the telly. |

Работа с текстом “TV or not TV”Whether we realize it or not, TV plays a very important part in our lives. It’s the main source of information and a cheap form of entertainment for millions of people. It’s the window on the world which gives us an opportunity to “travel” all over the world , to “meet” different people and learn about their customs and traditions. It has the power to educate and broaden our minds. It helps us to relax after a hard day’s work and escape from reality. It’s a good company for people who live alone. There’ is always a great variety of programmes on TV: news and sports programme, talk shows and TV games, documentaries and feature films, concerts and theatre performances …Of course, not all programmes are good. Some people argue that television is a terrible waste of time. It makes us lazier. We stay at home instead of going out. We read less. We think less. We even talk less. It’ true that some TV addicts spend hours in front of the “box” watching whatever’s on – from second-rate Mexican soap operas to silly commercials. |
