Save IFTs PowerPoint template to your computer (located at: http://www.am-fe.ift.org/cms/?pid=1000649). Open your existing presentation file (if already created). Click the Format menu, then click Slide Design. Click Browse and find the IFT PowerPoint template in step 1 and click Apply. Review slides for formatting as images and text may have shifted. If creating a presentation from scratch, complete step 1, open the file, and design your presentation.

Save IFTs PowerPoint template to your computer (located at: http://www.am-fe.ift.org/cms/?pid=1000649). Open your existing presentation file (if already created). On the View tab, in the Presentation Views group, click Slide Master. On the Slide Master tab, in the Edit Theme group, click the arrow below Themes, then click a theme and apply. Review slides for formatting as images and text may have shifted. If creating a presentation from scratch, complete step 1, open the file, and design your presentation.

Highlight the text needing font changes. On the Formatting Toolbar select the font style you want. For example: HelveticaNeue MediumCond While text is still highlighted, you can change the font size, click on the B for bold, I for Italics, U for underlining.

Click the Insert menu, and then click Picture and Clip Art. Type what image you are looking for and click Go. Double click the image to add it to your slide.

In the Look in: box, select the folder on your computer where the graphic is located. To open subfolders, double click them or click one and hit Open. Double click the image to add it to your slide. Or click it once and click Insert.

To resize an image or text box, left click the graphic/box. Place your cursor over a corner of the image/box where there is a white circle. A double arrow black line will appear. Hold down the left click button and drag the corner to the size you desire. When the image/box is the size you want, release the mouse button.

To move an image, hold down the left click of the mouse over the graphic and move to the location you desire. To move a text box, hold down the left click of the mouse over the gray border and move to the location you desire.

Click Slide Show on the top toolbar, then click Slide Transition. In the dialog box, click Random Bars Vertical. Under Modify transition, select a speed and/or sound. Under Advance slide, click on mouse click Click Apply to All Slides button.

Go to Slide View. Click the image or highlight text to select it. Click on the Slide Show menu, then click Custom Animation. Click the Add Effects button. Select Entrance, Emphasis, or Exit and then one of the special effects options.

Under Modify effect to select how the text/image should appear. Determine Start. Identify Direction/Property. Set Speed. Slides with multiple effects can be re-ordered with arrows at the bottom of the custom animation box.

Under the Insert menu, click on Movies and Sounds Click Sound from Clip Organizer or Sound from File. Select clip from options. Sound from Clip Organizer will ask when to introduce sound (automatically or on click). Select one. Position sound icon on slide. Note: Using sound is not typically advised. Special sound computer hook-ups are required to amplify the sound in large rooms. Additionally sounds often serve as distracters from your message.

Right click on object and select Custom Animation. Double click on object from list. Identify effect enhancements. Select Sound Select type of After Animation, as desired. Click okay.

On the top toolbar, click Slide Show, then View Show. Use the arrows on the keyboard to advance slides forward or backwards or click the mouse. Hit Esc at any time to exit out of view mode.

Under the Insert menu, click Movies and Sounds, then Movie from File. Locate file and click okay. Answer How do you want this file to start? (Automatically or on Click) Reposition and resize movie as needed. Run slide show to test movie. Note: Video files can significantly increase your file size and may display slowly depending on the speed of the computer. Special sound hook-ups may also be required to project sound. Use video with caution and be sure to practice on the computer being used in advance.

You can have five levels of indents But the further you indent The smaller the text gets And if you indent too far The text gets very hard to read Or even completely illegible So do your audience a favor Make sure your text is easily readable Stick to two levels of indents if possible Your audience will thank you!

Avoid Lengthy Text Use key words Do not use full sentences Use bullet points that are parallel Use the same Verb-Object format to start all bullets Do not read slides Limit number of slides to fit presentation time typically no more than 1 slide per minute
